This immersive experience was projected onto stage for 1’000 invited guests at a spectacular banquet around the 18th International Travel Expo ITE and its claim for sustainable travel and then the 5th Annual World MICE Awards at the GEM Center in Ho Chi Minh City on 4 September 2024.
Anyone who’s anyone from Ho Chi Minh City’s and even Vietnam’s political and cultural elite graced the spectacular 5th annual World MICE award at a gala dinner around the 18th International Travel Expo with its mission on a sustainable travel industry. Luminaries included the former president of Vietnam, the former vice president of the socialist party of Vietnam and the Deputy Director Dept of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City and many, many more.

Destination winners this year included Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was awarded ‘Asia’s Best MICE Destination’ and ‘Asia’s Best Incentive Destination’, Lima, Peru was named ‘Latin America’s Best MICE Destination’, while Saint Lucia walked away with the title ‘Caribbean’s Best Corporate Retreat Destination’. Lisbon retained the title of ‘Europe’s Best MICE Destination’ and Los Angeles won ‘North America’s Best MICE Destination’.
In the aviation sector, Vietnam Airlines was voted ‘Asia’s Best MICE Airline’, whilst Qatar Airways took the titles ‘Middle East’s Best MICE Airline’ and ‘World’s Best MICE Airline’. Kenya Airways walked away with ‘Africa’s Best MICE Airline’.
The strength of Dubai’s MICE sector was acknowledged with the UAE emirate voted ‘World’s Best MICE Destination’. Dubai World Trade Centre took triple honours, winning ‘Middle East’s Best Convention Centre’, ‘World’s Best Professional Exhibitions Organiser’ and ‘United Arab Emirates’ Best Convention Centre’. Museum of the Future enjoyed a fruitful evening, claiming ‘World’s Best MICE Event Venue’ and ‘Middle East's Best MICE Event Venue’.
Other winners include Venice, Italy (‘World’s Best Incentive Destination’); IMEX Frankfurt (‘World’s Best MICE Tradeshow’); Vietravel (‘World’s Best MICE Organiser’); InterContinental Hotels & Resorts (‘World’s Best MICE Hotel Brand’); and Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay (‘World’s Best New MICE Hotel’).
The results follow a year-long search for the world’s leading MICE brands.
Votes were cast by MICE industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner. Full list of winners of the World MICE Awards.
World MICE Awards is the sister event to World Travel Awards, currently celebrating its 31st anniversary.
