“Why Singapore? It's the centre of Asia, with a high degree of internationalisation and a complete infrastructure,” says Elaine Chia, the Asia-Pacific chief executive of global event organiser Comexposium. Indeed, Singapore's strategic location at the crossroads of major air and sea routes means it's a breeze to reach from Europe and beyond. Changi Airport, consistently ranked among the best in the world, ensures that getting here is as smooth as your event will be.
But it’s not just about location. Singapore offers a pro-business environment that's hard to beat. “Singapore is a business-friendly environment, providing a stable dynamic business climate that promotes trade, as it is bolstered by many free-trade agreements and an attractive taxation system with no customs duties,“ Chia adds. This stability and openness make Singapore a haven for businesses looking to connect and grow.
World-Class Facilities
Singapore's facilities are second to none. The Sands Expo and Convention Centre and Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre are just two examples of venues that cater to every need, from cutting-edge technology to luxurious accommodations. These venues are designed to handle events of all sizes, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
But it’s not all work and no play. Singapore offers a wealth of experiences outside the convention halls. From Michelin-starred restaurants to world-class museums, lush gardens, and exciting nightlife, there’s something for everyone. Imagine your attendees enjoying a night at the iconic Marina Bay Sands SkyPark or exploring the futuristic Gardens by the Bay after a productive day of networking and learning.
MICE Events
The Comexposium Group, a global leader in event organization, has long recognized Singapore’s potential. They host over 150 professional and public events annually, spanning more than 10 sectors and connecting millions of visitors and exhibitors worldwide. Comexposium's choice of Singapore underscores the city-state’s unrivaled appeal as a MICE destination.
Meanwhile, Messe München GmbH (MMG), another powerhouse in the exhibition industry, has made significant inroads into the Singapore MICE scene. Their transport logistic Southeast Asia and air cargo Southeast Asia events are prime examples of Singapore's growing influence. These events bring together top service providers and buyers, featuring high-level summits where industry experts share insights on the latest trends.
Upcoming Highlights
Looking ahead, the transport logistic Southeast Asia and air cargo Southeast Asia events, scheduled for October 29-31, 2025, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, are set to be major highlights. Organized by MMI Asia, Messe Munich's subsidiary, these events are poised to become the most influential meeting places for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management in the region.
These gatherings are more than just trade shows; they are opportunities for European businesses to tap into the vast economic potential of Southeast Asia. With 135 exhibitors from 23 countries and over 7,300 industry professionals expected to attend, these events are a testament to Singapore’s strategic importance in the global MICE landscape.
The Full Experience
Singapore isn’t just about business; it’s about offering a holistic experience that combines work and leisure seamlessly. Picture your attendees enjoying the rich cultural tapestry of Singapore, from its diverse culinary delights to its bustling shopping districts and serene nature spots. It’s this unique blend that makes Singapore not just a destination, but an experience.
In the words of Elaine Chia, "A good MICE event is a tripartite balance of venue, people, and content. Singapore addresses the venue part so we can take care of the rest.” For European businesses looking to make a significant impact, Singapore offers the perfect stage to shine.
So, why wait? Make Singapore your next destination for MICE events and watch as your business reaches new heights in this dynamic and vibrant city-state.

«Exiting events from the IFAT cluster to the transport and logistics sector over to the ISPO events»
Interview with Michael Wilton, CEO & Managing Director at MMI Asia
Michael, it’s been an eventful summer for Messe München in Asia. Can you tell us more about the recent events you've been involved with?
Absolutely! It has indeed been a very busy and exciting time for us. From 18 to 22 June 2024, we wrapped up the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) Water Expo, which we organized in collaboration with IFAT worldwide. The event was a tremendous success, bringing together industry leaders and innovators to discuss and showcase the latest advancements in water management and sustainability.
And you mentioned you had another event in the IFAT cluster shortly after?
Yes, that’s right. From June 26 to 28, Messe Muenchen Shanghai Co., Ltd., through our subsidiary MMZM, ran IE expo China (by IFAT) in Chengdu. This event is a critical platform for environmental technology and solutions, attracting a diverse range of participants from around the world. It's always inspiring to see so many experts and professionals come together to address environmental challenges.
It seems like there's been a lot of activity in China recently. Can you tell us about the return of the transport logistic exhibitions there?
Certainly! After a six-year hiatus, we were thrilled to bring the transport logistic exhibitions back to China. The event drew over 37,000 visitors over three days, which was fantastic. We also took the opportunity to promote our upcoming events, transport logistic Southeast Asia and air cargo Southeast Asia. It was great to see such a strong turnout and renewed interest in these crucial industries.
You also had ISPO Shanghai on your schedule, taking place June 28 to 30, 2024.
I had the honor of attending the opening ceremony and the first day of ISPO Shanghai. The ceremony was spectacular, setting the stage for an incredible gathering of sports and outdoor professionals. We had three packed halls and a large outdoor area showcasing everything from cycling and skateboarding to ballroom dancing. It was a fantastic celebration of sports and outdoor activities.
Four major events in just 12 days is quite a feat. How do you manage to pull off such a demanding schedule?
It’s all thanks to the incredible teams involved in organizing these events. Their dedication and hard work are truly commendable. Each event requires meticulous planning and coordination, and our teams excel at bringing everything together seamlessly. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved and excited for what’s to come in the second half of the year.
Can you give smartville digital's users a sneak peek into what’s coming next for Messe München in Asia?
There’s definitely much more to come! We have several exciting events lined up, including more from the IFAT cluster and expansions in the transport and logistics sectors. We’re also looking forward to continuing our work in the sports and outdoor industries with ISPO events. It’s going to be an action-packed second half of the year, and we can’t wait to share more details soon.
Thank you, Michael. It’s clear that Messe München is making significant strides in Asia. We look forward to seeing what the future holds!
Thank you! It’s been a pleasure sharing our journey, and we’re excited for the future.
