Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Miss Tan Mei Phing as the Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective 20 August 2024.
Tan Mei Phing’s (picture) appointment as an Acting CEO comes at a pivotal time for MyCEB, as the organisation continues to expand its influence and impact on the global stage. In her role, she will oversee the strategic direction, financial planning, and operational execution of MyCEB's initiatives, ensuring the bureau’s continued growth and reinforcing Malaysia’s standing as a premier destination for business events. Her deep expertise in business events, coupled with extensive industry knowledge, positions her to lead MyCEB into its next phase of development with confidence and vision.
Throughout her 12 years tenure at MyCEB, Tan Mei Phing has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a keen understanding of the business events landscape. Prior to this appointment, she successfully managed several key divisions, including Event Facilitation, Sales, Marketing & Branding, Industry Development, PR & Communications and Market Intelligence. Her strategic oversight in these areas has been instrumental in elevating Malaysia's profile as a leading hub for international business events and conferences.
Tan Mei Phing’s illustrious career in the business events sector, also known as the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) industry, is distinguished by her involvement in numerous major international conferences held in Malaysia. She began her career with an international Destination Management Company (DMC), where she gained valuable experience in event management. Her journey then led her to the role of a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO), where she honed her expertise in bidding and managing a large-scale event, further solidifying her reputation as a seasoned professional in the field.
As Acting CEO, Tan Mei Phing is expected to continue driving MyCEB's mission to position Malaysia as a top choice for global business events, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the industry. Her vision for the future of MyCEB is rooted in a commitment to enhancing Malaysia’s competitiveness in the global market while delivering exceptional value to stakeholders.
MyCEB serves as a central hub to assist meeting and event planners to bid and stage international business events in Malaysia and act as a conduit for national product development. MyCEB’s goal is to improve its rankings as an international meetings destination within International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and to grow business tourism arrivals to Malaysia.
